Identify the importer and use of the goods
Start with who will act as importer and whether goods are for personal use, business resale, samples or repair. Do not assume a personal-import process applies to a commercial shipment. Confirm which party will provide information and respond to customs questions.
- Consignee and importer are clearly identified
- Reachable contact in Israel
Prepare product facts before classification
Provide function, material, model, brand, origin and item values, supported by photos or specifications. A supplier HS code is a starting reference, not a substitute for local classification review. Ask which permits or product-specific checks apply before dispatch rather than waiting for arrival.
- Invoice and packing quantities reconcile
- Describe sets and accessories clearly
Budget release and final delivery separately
Obtain confirmed tax and service estimates from the responsible provider using the actual classification and valuation. The official personal-import tool is for personal imports and does not settle every commercial case. Also confirm storage exposure, document release and who books final delivery.
- Keep unpaid or unconfirmed items visible
- Release is distinct from delivery to the recipient
